About Our School

The William H. Lincoln School, located near Route 9 on Kennard Road, serves a diverse population of 565 students in grades Kindergarten through 8. By providing students with support and challenge, Lincoln prepares all students for success in high school and beyond.

Lincoln is home to many of the district’s Japanese English Language Learners and the Adaptive Learning Center, a program serving students with profound disabilities. Lincoln is committed to Brookline’s core values of educational equity and high achievement for all students. Staff members work collaboratively to provide engaging learning experiences and support students’ social-emotional growth.

Students at Lincoln can participate in a variety of academic, artistic, and athletic experiences before, during, and after school. The school’s spring musical performance is a celebrated community event, and sports teams emphasize excellence both in the classroom and on the playing fields. Additional opportunities include clubs and activities such as Math League, the National Geography Bee, and after-school enrichment programs.

Lincoln places a strong emphasis on building collaborative relationships through family involvement. With support from the PTO, the school offers a variety of artistic and educational programs, including music performances, lunchtime concerts, author and illustrator visits, residencies, the Gardner Museum series in grade one, and book fairs.

Family-centered events include school picnics, Pumpkinfest, Lincoln Reads Night, and Science Night. Teachers also host breakfast shares and open houses throughout the year, giving families opportunities to experience student learning and classroom activities firsthand.

A parent group organizes a monthly First Friday Coffee for parents, teachers, and community members. These gatherings feature speakers and discussions on topics of interest and school-wide initiatives.
